Bill Maher. You can’t keep having P.J. O’Rourke come on your show simply to bomb. His hair is the only funny thing that remains. You have him on once a year — and each year he gets one laugh. Until this year. There is nothing there anymore. Just the dull winding down of a sneer.

To think that I used to wait eagerly every month for my copy of National Lampoon, when PJ was writing stuff for them like “The 7 Fires of the Adelphian Lodge” (which I think ultimately may have become the script for Animal House)…. sigh….

PJ O’Rourke shelf life expired at least 15 years ago. At least he is funny when drunk, which I assume is quite often. And unlike most Republicans he does not cause my blood to boil.
