How is it Haters can always find a few members of the minorities they target to promote their causes? Clarence Thomas benefited from the affirmative action he derided and became a darling of the resurgent segregation movement in the 80s, AKA the Republican party. Ken Mehlman helped organize the Republican Party around the wedge issue of outlawing gay marriage. It turns out he’s gay. What a surprise.

Now it’s Dr Alveda King, niece of the Martin Luther King, whose revered name has been appropriated by the despicable Glenn Beck for Mr Beck’s own aggrandizement. She is lending her family name and her personal twisted convictions to those who want African-Americans put out of public life forever — the Tea Party.

The doctorate? She got it from a New Hampshire college, although she isn’t sure how she earned it. The best she can do is, “I guess for my stand on the support of marriage, and family, and education, and life.”

Our duty. Really.
